About You, About Me.

Want photographs that tell the whole story of your wedding day? Hate the thought of fake smiles and scripted moments? You want something natural, organic and uniquely yours—photographs that capture every lovely, terrifying, breathtaking moment.

I may be just the storyteller for you! I’m wedding photojournalist Meg Wilson.

My love of photojournalism goes way back.  There’s a chalk caricature of me that was drawn when I was in the first grade- I have a camera strapped around my neck and I’m flying an airplane toward adventure! I wanted to take pictures of the world because photography was the passion of my first-grader heart! It grew into a love for journalistic photography- for witnessing and celebrating life in pictures- which has never left me.

I am drawn to photograph weddings because of the story, the undeniable authenticity of the day when so many things happen, so much changes for two people becoming one, and such deep love is celebrated.

I photograph a wedding day as it naturally unfolds and I photograph unobtrusively- no directing the action. I won’t be asking you to look at me and smile before you cut your cake. I want you to be able to participate fully in your own celebration, and I’ll capture authentic moments between you and all the loved ones you’ve invited to share in your day.

I still travel with my camera, and though I’ve never flown the plane (sorry about that, first-grader self) I’ve photographed weddings in Kentucky, New Mexico, Seattle, Hawaii, the U.K., and I’ve photographed the Philippines, and from northern Europe all the way down to Spain.

Some getting-to-know-you facts about me:

I like cardamom in my coffee (and I love coffee).  An Afghan living in Germany visiting Spain taught me that.

I love digging with my hands in the dirt of my garden almost as much as I love anything.

I love old-school musicals. And singing along with them if I’m watching alone.

Contact me!  I’ll invite you to coffee and we’ll discuss your destination wedding or your Kentucky wedding!
